Zeti Aziz ( by AINA and HIDAYAH )



Tan Sri Dr Zeti Akhtar Aziz is the 7th and current governor of Bank Negara Malaysia and she is the first woman in the position.
She was born in Johor Bharu, Johor. After finishing school in Assunta High School, she did her Form 6 in St. John's Institution, Kuala Lumpur. In 1970, she received a Bachelor's degree in Economics from University Malaya. Then, she continued her studies at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, receiving a PhD in monetary and international economics.
Tan Sri Dr Zeti Akhtar aziz returned to Malaysia in 1987 and she was selected as secretary to the Board of Directors. In 1989, she became a Chief representative and a Bank's chief economist and the Head of Economics department in 1994.
Besides becoming an economist, she also was appointed as Assistant Governor in 1995 and she was responsible for economics, reserve management, foreign and money market operations. Furthermore in 2008, she was also one of the member of a special task force at the United States to examine reforms of the global market system.
Tan Sri Dr Zeti Akhtar Aziz is a famous and remembered person because of her successes in areas such as inflation control, economic growth goals, currency stability and the production of the interest rate management.
We picked Tan Sri Dr Zeti Akhtar Aziz because she is a talented person. She is professional in economic and the global market. She is also the one that makes our country, Malaysia as a world-wide economic industry and make Malaysia is known all over the world. We are thankful and proud to have such a wonderful woman that brings Malaysia to be known all over the world. We hope we can be the best among the best like she is.
