Donatella Versace is an Italian fashion designer. She was born on the 2nd of May 1955 in the Italian city of Reggio di Calabria. She is the youngest of four children in her family. Her father was a personal financier to the Italian aristocracy.
Donatella and her former husband which is an American model Paul Beck, have a daughter, Allegra Versace and a son, Daniel Versace . She is also the aunt of her oldestbrother, Santo's two children, Francesca Versace, and Antonio Versace. Her brother, Gianni was dead on July 15 1997 and after , that it was her daughter Allegra Versace who inherited the most part of his fortune. Her daughter was dead because of aneroxia.
In the early days, his mother supported the family with her small tailor-shop. There, Versace learned everything about making clothes and soon she designed apparel herself, which was sold in her mother's shop. Then, Versace acquired additional skills working in fabric procurement positions. She got his first chance to show her skills when designing a collection for Fiori Fiorentini, a Lucca, Italy based company in 1972.
In the following, Versace designed for the Italian fashion labels De Parisi, Genny (for whom she would later be working again), Callaghan, Alma, and then for Complice in 1974. The work for Complice, which she fully conceived himself marked the first occasion where her own name was included in the brand name.
In 1978, Versace opened her first boutique in Milan's Via della Spiga, still selling other labels to complement her own collections. Soon, with the growing popularity of the Versace style, boutiques started to spread across the globe.
In 1985, Versace added the Instante label to her fashion empire. Similar in style to Versace couture, but targeted at a less affluent and younger crowd.
The Versace-style has become a trademark of its own. If one seeks to characterize Versace, you can always point to Giorgio Armani. Versace is everything Armani is not. She is known for striking colours, materials, and cuts. Her collections for men and women are sexy to the point of vulgarity. On first sight her work seems to reflect the typical Italian grandezza. On second sight, she seemed to draw only from those images (like the neo-classicistic ornaments in her prints), pushing them to the limits, in order to question any prevailing common agreement on & qout;good taste".
When designing new products, Versace gave only a vague sketch of her ideas. Then, her assistant were responsible for transforming them into wearable garments.
Since her days as a fabric buyer, Versace enjoyed travelling. In her new creations, she incorporates the impressions she gains while travelling.
Now , Versace is one of the most popular brand in the whole world . It is sold mostly in the every shopping complex in every city .
